Self-portraits with the canon

I’ve been trying this new style of Self-Portraits lately. I create these with my Canon Digital Rebel XTi that I purchased with one of my paychecks when I graduated from college. I did them in black and white on timer with one light source from my lighting kit and umbrella. I’m also limiting retouching by only adding light to areas that are too dark (opposite of the single light source). This was suggested by Pari Dukovic.

So of course, I had to comment on the iPad…

Michael got his iPad delivered today.

Ana had the honors of opening it.

… and I got the chance to play around.

My initial thoughts: It really is a huge iPhone or iPod.

However, I really did enjoy the experience of using it. The touchscreen keyboard was acceptable and of course navigating had the same features that I love about my iPod Touch.

I still do not see myself using it yet because of the lack of flash of course. Also, like everything else Apple, I don’t think waiting until 2nd generation is a bad idea at all.

I was curious of how I would actually use it so I did these screen shots.

I would prefer seeing videos if I had access to wifi on my lap… Well, besides reading of course. I do love how Netflix made it known immediately that there was “an app for that.”

and I enjoyed the streaming ability:

By the way Pandora has an app that was introduced today also (as an avid user of pandora I am happy this is available).

Do you own one? Do you love it? Tell me your thoughts!

By the way, if you haven’t yet: join my fan page on facebook, since I don’t add users that I haven’t met to my personal account. I’m spotlighting some fans and their websites in the next post if you’re listed.
